Nepal And China To Boost Tourism Sector Through New Collaboration ’Nihao China’

The China Cultural Centre (CCC) in Kathmandu recently hosted a tourism promotion event focused on strengthening ties between China and Nepal. Held on Wednesday, the event, titled “Nihao China,” brought together a diverse group of participants, including members of the business community, tourism professionals, and representatives from airlines.

The event was a collaborative effort between the CCC Kathmandu Office, China’s national flag carrier Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and the China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu.

During the event, Xiao Jiang, Director of the CCC Kathmandu Office, emphasized that the initiative provided Nepali tourism professionals with valuable insights into China’s tourism resources and policies. She also highlighted how the event facilitated networking, information sharing, and the exploration of potential future collaborations between tourism stakeholders from both countries.

Over one hundred Nepali travel and ticketing agents, along with representatives from several Chinese tourism companies, including Guangxi Guangda Tourism Investment Company, Tibet Yeti International Travel Service, and Sichuan Mingyan Travel Agency, attended the event.

Director Xiao highlighted that Nepal and China share a rich cultural heritage and abundant tourism resources, making the bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector beneficial for both nations. She also mentioned that the Nepal Visit Year 2025 would be significant, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal.

Additionally, Mohan Suwal from the China National Tourist Office presented insights into Chinese tourism products, the country’s diverse cuisine, and its cultural and historical heritage, offering a comprehensive view of China’s tourism offerings.
